Brand in Focus – Rat & Boa
We’re always on the lookout for new brands that bring something a little bit different to the table. Our brand in focus this week is a wonderful brand called Rat and Boa which we discovered a couple of months ago. At TFV, we have fallen in love with the brand on so many levels! For starters, Rat and Boa was established in the North East of England and we think it is great that such a talented brand has been created on our home turf. The clothes and jewellery created by the northern brand is out of this world and is the perfect way to add some colour and staple pieces to your wardrobe. The founders of the brand, Stephanie Cara Bennett and Valentina Muntoni wanted to sell affordable, imaginative and slightly daring pieces that encouraged individuality and expression – and boy have they succeeded in turning their dream into reality!
Rat and Boa have become insanely popular over the past year having reached almost 7,000 fans on Facebook. Having admitted they are finding it difficult to keep up with popular demands for their goods, even after increasing their stock levels, they are still managing to get new stock on the site at least once a month. With such high anticipation, it has proven difficult for us to grab some pieces before they have sold out.
Last week we made our first purchase from the site as we were finally lucky enough to be online when the new stock launched! We filled our virtual basket with some lovely goods that we couldn’t wait to receive in the post!
One of the things we love about Rat and Boa is the use of beautiful, handcrafted prints which are each individual to the next. Combining a mixture of tie dye, dip dye and crochet with vibrant colours – we were truly in our element when these beautiful garments arrived.
We think that all of the product photos portray the products perfectly and this diamond crochet jumper it no exception. We’ve never seen anything like this with the coloured diamond patches and bead detail. This will look great over a bikini on holiday or teamed with a pair of leggings and a cami.
This marble print top has an halterneck fastening and a tie back so you can adjust the top accordingly. We’re going to wear this with a pair of high waisted shorts for the evening and a jersey midi skirt for during the day.
We’re partial to a bit of tie dye and we love this orange shirt dress! When it first arrived we were a bit overwhelmed by the length of the sleeves, but once rolled up it looks fab! We’ll be wearing this with a pair of ankle boots for an effortlessly cool ensemble.
What do you think of Rat and Boa? Would you buy from this brand?
